KIS Families,
Happy Veteran’s Day! Thank you to all of our Veterans for what you have provided for our country and the freedoms we enjoy!
Please ejoy our Virtual Veteran’s Day Program:
Virtual Veterans Day Program
This is how we started the day off at KIS this morning:
On the 11th hour… of the 11th day… of the 11th month… the fighting of World War I ended in 1918. Due to the conclusion of “the War to end all Wars,” November 11th became a universally recognized day of celebration. Veteran’s Day began as “Armistice Day” on November 11th, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11th became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Veteran’s Day pays tribute to all American Veterans – both living and dead – and gives thanks to veterans who served their country honorably.
On Veterans Day we honor all
Who answer to a service call
Soldiers young, and soldiers old
Fought for freedom, brave and bold
Some have lived, while others died
And all of them deserve our pride
We’re proud of all the soldiers who
Kept thinking of red, white and blue
They fought for us and all our rights,
They fought through many days and nights
And though we may not know each name,
We thank ALL veterans just the same!
Happy Veteran’s Day to all Veterans, and Thank You for all your service!
